The mission of the Helsinki Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities (HSSH) is to support multidisciplinary research networks, facilitate cooperation between research groups and advance methodological development at the City Centre Campus of the University of Helsinki (UH).
This survey is an invitation for research groups* to affiliate with the HSSH network.
Responses to this survey will build a new updated database. Therefore, we kindly ask you to fill in your details even you have answered the earlier round of the HSSH Research Group Survey.
We have also considerably shortened the questionnaire so answering will take much less time and effort than in the previous round (around 10 min).
We will use the collected information to create a database on the research groups of the UH City Centre Campus (see data protection statement). The database will include the topics, data, methods and contact people of research groups to provide information for networking and collaboration between groups.
By answering this survey, you agree to share your answers with other researchers at the UH. Answers to some questions at the end of the survey will not be made available to others (eg. feedback to HSSH) and these are specifically marked.
Thank you for participating and welcome to the HSSH network!
* A research group is a team of people working on a shared research topic or research problem. It can be a community focusing on methods, particular approaches, theoretical problems or specific kinds of data. The size of a group can vary but its members should work concretely together. A group can be effectively contacted by reaching out to one of its members. HSSH characterization of a “research group” is meant to be generous and inclusive, self-identification as a research group is of central relevance here.

If your group has a website, please provide the link below. If not, please provide the link to the UH research portal page of the group leader/contact person.
The answers to this section will not be made available to others outside HSSH.
Here you can give open feedback or eg. suggest activities to be organised by HSSH such as events, methodological workshops etc. that would be useful for your research group.
