A short description of the planned workshop sessions:
Art-science education project (Arctic Futures) is a new three-year project started in 2026. The aim of the project is to design a new transdisciplinary master's programme combining methodologies of art and science in finding sustainable and peaceful solutions for risks and challenges the Arctic and Nordic environments and societies are facing.
Multisite course (Aerosol measurements: low- and mid-cost sensors) is another new project, further developing the concept of multisite course introduced in ABS in 2024, but also providing students of Nordic universities an opportunity to learn about the contemporary sensor technologies in aerosol science.
Co-creative curriculum development (EnCHiL) is a two-year project, which started in 2025. In the project, a participatory curriculum co-development method involving students, alumni, teachers and leaders of a Nordic master's programme was introduced.
In the session "Long-term perspectives of ABS" we will take a look into the future and discuss the development of the Nordic higher education landscape and what the ABS network could do next.
ABS workshop participants are invited also to participate in the annual ACCC-FASN conference (ACCC = Atmosphere and Climate Competence Centre, FASN = Finnish Atmospheric Science Network) to be held in Tampere 30 Nov - 2 Dec. There is no registration fee, and ABS can cover accommodation to a limited number of participants from the ABS network.
