REOPEN: Next Generation Workforce – Empowering Young People for Improved Employment
Build skills. Get experience. Open doors.
Starting a career can feel confusing — especially when every job seems to ask for experience you do not yet have. REOPEN is here to change that.
REOPEN is an international project for young people in Estonia, Latvia and Finland who want to build real skills, gain work experience and feel more ready for the labour market. It brings together universities, business organisations, employers and young people to create a practical pathway from learning to working life.
Many young people are ready to work, but they need the right opportunity to show what they can do. At the same time, many small and medium-sized companies are looking for motivated people with fresh ideas. REOPEN helps both sides meet.
The project is meant for young people (18-25 years old) who have little to no work experience including those who may face barriers when entering the job market.
What you get from REOPEN:
Through REOPEN 300 young people will take part in a practical upskilling programme covering the skills employers are looking for today — including soft skills, digital skills, green skills and internship preparation.
The project will offer 150 internships in Estonia, Latvia and Finland, locally or internationally. Participants will gain real work experience, meet employers, explore different career paths and build confidence in a supportive environment.
By joining the project, participants can:
* strengthen skills that are useful in almost any job
* understand what employers are really looking for
* gain practical work experience via fairly compensated internship
* build international connections
* get a recommendation letter after completing an internship
