eLTER Standard Observation integration and implementation workshop (12th June 2026, Umeå, Sweden)
To adequately characterize the state and future trends of the Earth system, standardized and harmonised measurements over the long-term are needed. At the European level, eLTER describes horizontal interactions between social systems and their environments (whole system approach) resulting in 63 Standard Observations (SOs). The developing SO protocols are soon to be implemented with the formation of an eLTER ERIC. As such, this workshop welcomes a strategic discussion around the implementation and integration of the SOs at the site level, including challenges and site-specific adaptations, co-location with other RIs and data mobilization. This event requires pre-registration so that we can cater the content to the participants attending. The workshop will only run if there are enough participants registered.
This workshop is connected to BIOGEOMON conference (8-11th June 2026 in Umeå, Sweden) and will take place on the dedicated workshop day on the 12th of June 2026 in Umeå, Sweden. The workshop will be a half-day in the morning with the possibility to continue informal discussions in the afternoon. You do not need to be registered for the Biogeomon conference to take place in the workshop. The workshop is free of charge but lunch is not included.
