What is the intended purpose of the credentials? Knowing this allows us to ensure that the service is used for sustained research or thesis work.

Service terms and conditions

1. I will not use the service data for commercial purposes.

2. I will not disclose the credentials to anyone else. If I am applying for credentials for my research group, as the applicant I will be responsible for ensuring that no one in the group discloses the credentials to external parties.

3. It is my responsibility to determine what should be taken into account in planning the use of social media research. Before starting my research, I will ensure at least the following:

a) Consent of research subjects, informed consent and data protection. Contact your organisation’s data protection officer.

b) Does your planned processing of data present a high risk to research subjects? Contact your organisation’s data protection officer.

c) Terms of use of each social media platform and possible limitations for data collection and research.

d) Copyright: Social media posts can also be original works and, consequently, protected by copyright. Publishing a social media update as part of your research requires the permission of the author of the post.

The National Library of Finland will use the personal data collected using the form only for managing Integrum Social Networks service credentials as well as, possibly, collecting one-time feedback. Responding to any feedback requests is voluntary. Data collected on the form will not be disclosed, nor will the data be transferred outside the EU and/or the European Economic Area (EEA). Access to the data is restricted to individuals managing the credentials. The data will be deleted when the service subscription period and the user’s ability to use the service credentials have ended, i.e., no later than 1 November 2027.
