The Three Minute Thesis competition is a concept developed by the University of Queensland, in which doctoral researchers present their research topics in three-minute presentations accessible to non-specialist audience. The presentations are evaluated by both a panel of experts and the audience. The evaluation considers both the content and quality of the presentation.
The competition preliminary rounds and the final will take place during the Doctoral Experience Week 2025, on Tuesday 3rd June and Wednesday 4th June. To prepare for the competition, all participants are invited to a presentation training online workshop on Thursday, 8th May as well as a live workshop on Monday, 2nd June. We warmly recommend attending both of these workshops if you plan to participate in the competition. The online workshop will cover the basics of preparing your presentation and you will have a chance to put the final touches into your presentation with a presentation coach in the live workshop.
