This survey is for collecting costs information of each eLTER Site and eLTSER Platform. It is intended for internal use only. Please be sure to read the "eLTER Sites and eLTSER Platforms Cost Survey Guide" before starting to fill this questionnaire to have a precise idea of what it is for. This Cost Survey Guide includes detailed instructions and descriptions for each Cost item to be estimated in this survey.
Structure of this survey
▪ Basic information: This section has to be filled in with the key information about the Site/Platform and the person filling the form.
▪ General costs: The general costs are filled in an excel template, and uploaded here. There is a separate template for Sites and Platforms.
General costs include cost estimation for the basic costs of a Site/Platform, divided into a phase of the Site/Platform lifetime:
1) Implementation Costs
2) Operation Costs
3) Decommissioning Costs
▪ eLTER Standard Observations (SO) Costs (ONLY FOR SITES): In this section, eLTER SO Cost application based results need to be uploaded. For this, you should download the Excel file directly from the Cost application.
Please note that scientific/technical personnel are accounted for in the eLTER SO Cost application for Implementation and Operation Costs but not for the Decommissioning Costs.

▪ The currency to be used for the costs estimation is Euro. To convert other currencies to Euro refer to the Foreign Exchange Reference Rates published by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt/Main on the first day of the calendar year (scroll the page to the bottom to find the Historical reference rates).

Each eLTSER Platform must contain at least one eLTER Site (Cat1 or Cat2). List all Sites that belong to your Platform below.
For Sites, upload the General cost excel. The template is available HERE.
It is MANDATORY! The Excel file name should contain the Site Name as of displayed in deims.org and should be same as is provided in the 'Basic Site information' section. Name the upload: GENERAL costs_Site name_YYYY-MM-DD.xlsx
For Platforms, upload the general cost excel. The template is available HERE.

For Sites, in this section, eLTER SO Cost application based results need to be uploaded in the Excel file format. It is MANDATORY!
Please download the end result at SO Costs tab as an excel table and upload it without modifications here. Do not change the name of the file coming from the application.
