HELSUS Members' Initiative Form

 

This form is for HELSUS members to easily reach out to the HELSUS coordination unit and suggest sustainability science initiatives, e.g:

 

-look to apply for funding for organizing a HELSUS event,

-seek in-kind support for a sustainability science event,

-prepare a policy brief or a research brief on research findings,

-look for research collaboration with other HELSUS members

 

-or to get help with in the field of sustainability science, sustainability education and societal impact.

We want to develop HELSUS towards a "seedbed" and (experimental) platform for different kinds of activities and initiatives envisioned and created by HELSUS members, be it policy briefs, action groups, events, or something else. The HELSUS core team is here to support our member researchers to network and act for maximum impact in sustainability science and in facilitating sustainability transformations.

 I seek HELSUS Event funding

HELSUS Event funding is directed to support HELSUS members, who wish to organise events in sustainability science.

Funding can be allocated to maximum of 10 events. The funding covers the facility rent without extra services.


Funding is targeted to HELSUS members who have no other funding available (e.g. allocated in project budget). The following criteria need to be fulfilled:


•  Funding is for facility rent at the University of Helsinki or Think Corner (Tiedekulma)
•  Responsible organiser is an approved HELSUS member when submitting the form
•  A HELSUS member may receive the support no more than once per year
•  The event topic is in the sustainability science field
•  Funding needs to be applied at least six weeks prior to the event


Advertisements and publicity material should clearly indicate that the event is supported by HELSUS (e.g. include the HELSUS logo).  If separately agreed on, HELSUS may become a co-organiser with a short introduction to HELSUS and research on the topic of the event.


The responsible organizer receiving the Event funding agrees that HELSUS may also distribute the event invitation to HELSUS members, stakeholders and all interested in sustainability.

 

Applicant must make sure their event is in compliance with the premises' event policy before applying.

 

 

 Events

 Policy Brief

Please elaborate on the idea and title of the policy brief/research brief/project prief, etc. Include also all other details you feel is necessary to be put on the interactive platform.

 Project/activity/etc.

Please explain your objective(s) for a sustainability science initiative (task force/pressure group/collaboration/project/activity etc.), and when you are planning to start.

E.g. are you looking for people to conduct a purely academic project with, or a project that seeks for a socieatl impact?

Include also all details you wish to share on the interactive platform, e.g., contact information, preliminary schedule.
