Application for researcher carrels at the National Library for 1.7.–31.12.2026

By filling this form, the right to use the researcher carrels in the National Library can be applied. The researcher carrels in the South Hall are available until the end of 2026 and in the Slavonic Library for the period 1.9.–31.12.2026. The researcher carrels are intended for users of the National Library’s materials and collections.
The applications are evaluated particularly with the following criteria:
• relevance of National Library's collections and resources, especially reading room loans and the reference library
• active use of the workspace and library's services
• applicant's current requirements for workspace
The researcher carrels and storage spaces are free of charge. Applicants should note that South Hall is also used by other library patrons besides those who are granted the researcher carrels.
Available facilities:
1) Researcher carrels in the South Hall, 6 months (1.7.–31.12.2026), 10 spaces
- a lockable cabinet for personal materials and approximately 2 meters of shelf space for humanities collection reading room loans
- materials of the Fennica and Special Collections cannot be used in the South Hall
2) Researcher carrels in the Slavonic Library, 4 months (1.9.–31.12.2026), 4 seats
- a lockable cabinet and shelf for personal materials
- intended for users of the Slavonic Library's reading room loans and open collections, no Fennica or Special Collections materials
The last application date is Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Selections will be notified by June 12, 2026, at the latest.
